Player Application

The EVO Elite Hockey Player Application allows players (8U–16U, birth years 2018–2010) to express interest in joining our 2026 Spring/Summer Program. Submit your application, providing player details, prior season team/level, and contact information for your previous coach. This information will be used to evaluate players for acceptance and placement into one of our single-birth-year teams (AAA/AA or AA/A skill groups). A $25 application fee is required, fully refundable if not accepted or credited toward tournament fees if accepted. Applicants will receive acceptance notification within 14 days and team placement details by January 20, 2026.

When & Where

What are the training opportunities hosted by EVO Elite?

EVO will be hosting a training weekend in Dallas, TX in March 20-22, 2026. It is open to all, but players registered for tournaments with EVO will receive discounted registration.


When and where are the tournaments where EVO will compete?

EVO will be sending teams to the following tournaments:

May 1-3 - Smashville Showdown - Nashville, TN

June 12-14 - Mile High Cup - Westminster, CO

July - Dallas, TX

What aged players are appropriate for this program?

8U (2018 birth year)

9U (2017 birth year)

10U (2016 birth year)

What level players are appropriate for this program?

Players who have competed or are looking to step up to the A/AA or AA/AAA level.


Application & Registration

Period

Applications open October 1, 2025, and close when roster spots (15 players per team, including goalies) are filled or by January 31, 2026, whichever comes first.

A waitlist will be available for filled age groups/skill groups.


Process

Complete the following application, submitting player details, position, prior season team/level, and contact info for previous coach.

A $25 application fee is required, refunded if not accepted, applied to fees if accepted, or non-refunded if accepted but unregistered.

Tournament cost: $385 per tournament. Due upon notification of acceptance or by January 31, 2026.

Early bird registration cost: $350 per tournament by November 1, 2025.


Gamewear

A $125 gamewear fee covers a custom reversible jersey, socks, and a EVO Elite tech t-shirt. You only have to purchase the package once, whether you play one tournament or all three.

Jerseys and apparel will be present at each tournament and distributed prior to the first game.

Additional gear will be available for purchase.


Confirmation

Accepted players will receive a confirmation email within 2 weeks of application, including program and payment details.


Code of Conduct

Players and parents must agree to EVO Elite’s Code of Conduct, emphasizing respect, teamwork, and commitment, during application.


Team Selection Process

Evaluation Process

No in-person tryouts: Coaches from EVO Elite evaluate players based on:

  • Team and level played in the 2025–2026 season.
  • Feedback from the player’s previous coach (contacted post-application).


Selection Criteria

Skill Level: Matched to AAA/AA (higher tier) or AA/A (developmental tier) based on prior performance and coach feedback.

Coach References: May be requested to verify past performance.

Team Fit: Ensures balanced rosters (15 players per team).

Availability: Players confirm tournament participation upon acceptance.


Notification

Acceptance notifications: within 2 weeks of application, via email. 

Acceptance response: 100% of the tournament fees are due to lock in a roster spot. Accepted players must confirm registration within 7 days or forfeit to waitlisted players, with the $25 application fee non-refundable.

Final team placement notification: January 20, 2026, via email.

Final rosters announced: January 31, 2026, via email, social media, and evoelitehockey.com.


Skill Group Structure

Ages & Skills: Each age group (8U–16U) may have multiple teams, split into two skill groups (AAA/AA, AA/A), ensuring competitive balance.

Roster Adjustments: Coaches may adjust rosters post-selection based on updated feedback or availability, with player/parent notification.

Appeals: Players/parents may request a review of placement by emailing info@evoelitehockey.com within 48 hours of notification. Decisions are final after review.


Coaches & Communication

What can families expect regarding coaches?

EVO is committed to putting hand-selected coaches on every bench to fulfill our vision of player development and enjoyment.

How will families get information?

EVO will be sending out schedule and logistics information via the Crossbar app as well as via email.

Teams & Games

How many teams and how many players per team?

EVO Elite teams will average 15 players (goalies included) to maximize ice time and development opportunities.

How many games will they play?

Teams will play a minimum of 4 games with the potential of 6 gams at each event.

Our training weekend in Dallas will also feature live game sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I disagree with the team level assigned to my player?

We are happy to have additional discussions, but reserve the right to place players where we believe they will have the best development and experience.

What if I get to the first tournament and my player's jersey doesn't fit?

We will have a stock of additional jerseys, socks, and shirts to ensure that every player is appropriately fitted.
